Frances Saxton, 72, of Yazoo City, passed away on Jan. 2, 2026 at the Baptist Medical Center in Jackson.
Funeral services will be held on Jan. 8 at 11 a.m. at Stricklin King Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Carl Lewis officiating. Burial will follow at Midway Baptist Church. Visitation will be held on Jan. 7 from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.

William “Bill” Kain, 88, of Decatur, AL passed away on December 17, 2025 with family by his side.
Born in Truman, Arkansas, Bill was the son of Reece Allen Kain Sr and Era Johnson Kain.
After moving to Satartia, MS, he married Geraldine “Pedy” Ragland Kain. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend.

Helen Deshonn Nichols went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, Dec. 29, 2025.
Deshonn was born on Nov. 17, 1948 in Star City, Ark. to Arley V and Helen Marie Holloway. She has been a part of the Yazoo community since 1968.
She was a loving wife, mother, sister and grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her father, Arley Holloway; mother, Helen Holloway; and brother, Michael Holloway.

Mittie E. Suber, 95, of Brandon, Mississippi, Rankin County, passed away on December 29, 2025, at St. Dominic’s Health Services in Jackson, Mississippi.
She was born on October 6, 1930, in Wayne County, Mississippi, to the late Ada Covey and Vera Beatrice Robuck. Mittie was a devoted Baptist and a loving homemaker who dedicated her life to her family and faith.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Lawrence Suber of Brandon, Mississippi.

Jack Spencer went to his heavenly home on December 30, 2025 due to complications from pneumonia.
Jack was born on March 1, 1935 in Tolarsville, a small community in Holmes County, Mississippi, to parents Willie E. and Addie Mae Spencer. Jack was the youngest of seven children and always talked about his wonderful childhood where he had the freedom to hunt and fish in the hills of Holmes County with his brothers. The family had a gravel business and that is where he developed a deep love of construction work and driving heavy machinery.

Betty Jean Elledge, age 85, left to be with her Savior on Friday, December 26, 2025. She was born Friday, April 19, 1940, and lived a life marked love, and quiet faithfulness.
Betty lived out the Gospel in both word and deed. Those who knew her experienced the fruits of the Spirit through her life of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. She was known for her friendly face, happy smile, and genuine kindness, offering warmth and grace to everyone she encountered.

Marie Kelly, affectionately known as Kelly, passed away peacefully at the age of 97 and a half years old at her home in Charenton with her family at her side on Dec. 11, 2025.
Marie was born on June 6, 1928 in Sunflower County, the eldest of 13 children.
Marie was a woman of many talents. She loved to crochet, knit, quilt and sew. She spent her life serving Yazoo City Police Department as a crossing guard.
