YHS track season comes to an end

Yazoo City High School’s 2023 track season came to an end last week at the North State tournament held at Pontotoc High School.
Representing the Lady Indians in the 4x100 relay were Avianna Allen, Lakyra Bankhead, E’kemii Johnson and Eternity Pepper.
The 4x200 relay team included Bankhead, Johnson, Pepper and Kirsten Newman.

Yazoo Elite 16U takes second

YC Indians drop two to Mooreville to end season

The Yazoo City Indians baseball season came to a close last week against the Mooreville Troopers.
The Indians finished the season 14-7 overall and 6-0 in district play.
The visiting Troopers took an 18-5 win over the Indians in the best-of-three series last Tuesday and finished the job three days later with a 16-0 victory at home.

Kossuth eliminates Yazoo County in second round

For the sixth consecutive season, the Yazoo County Lady Panthers’ softball season has ended with a second round elimination, this time at the hands of the Kossuth Lady Aggies.
The Lady Ags picked up a slim 2-0 win at Yazoo County last week and sealed the deal on their home turf with a 5-1 win.
