Two COVID-19-related deaths were reported in Yazoo County Tuesday as the county’s total number of infections topped 700.
The Mississippi State Department of Health reported 1,342 new cases of COVID-19 Tuesday and 42 new related deaths.

Johnathan Townsend was charged with murder in connection to the shooting death of Abieon Earl Taylor.

Local legend KK Hill dies

Carey Hill, director of the Triangle Cultural Center and a local favorite, died Wednesday afternoon.

Hill was involved in a one-car accident on Grand Avenue. Emergency responders believe he may have suffered a sudden health problem that caused him to lose control of the vehicle.
