Investigation continues with female’s death

Investigators are waiting for autopsy results to pursue possible criminal charges in the discovery of a female’s body.
Chief Terry Gann, with the Yazoo County Sheriff’s Department, said the investigation continues after a female was found deceased on the porch of a family member’s home.

Drugs, weapons removed from streets

A routine traffic stop led to a high-speed chase through Yazoo, ending in a crash, an arrest and multiple drug and weapon seizures.
The 20-minute chase involved both Yazoo City officers and Yazoo County deputies last Tuesday, according to Police Chief Kenny Hampton.

Suspect caught in stolen car

A female suspect who decided to take a rest at a local church inside a stolen vehicle found herself behind bars after OnStar disabled the vehicle.
Sharee Clifton, 31, was charged with possession of stolen property after local deputies apprehended her at a church on Highway 432.
