Investigators are waiting for autopsy results to pursue possible criminal charges in the discovery of a female’s body.
Chief Terry Gann, with the Yazoo County Sheriff’s Department, said the investigation continues after a female was found deceased on the porch of a family member’s home.
“Two individuals were detained and questioned,” Gann said. “Charges could be forthcoming related to the victim’s death pending autopsy reports.”
Gann said one male individual was detained and questioned but has since been released with no charges, as of press time. Another male individual brought in for questioning was then charged with drug possession.
William Woodell, 40, was charged with drug possession and paraphernalia.
“Woodell had some crystal methamphetamine and a syringe in his possession when he was brought in for questioning,” Gann said.
Woodell remained at the Yazoo County Regional Correctional Facility as of press time.
