Kamari Taylor, of Yazoo City High School, recently paid a visit to the Yazoo County Board of Supervisors to thank them for their donation towards the Magnolia Sports Association All-Star Game. Taylor will play at the game on Dec. 26-29 at East Central Community College.

Miranda Guion and Brandon Bryant were united in marriage on November 15, 2025 at Parkview Church of God’s Lodge.
The bride is the daughter of Candace Book of Yazoo City and Greg Guion of Canton. She is the granddaughter of Sonny and Pat Taylor of Yazoo City and John and Shelby Book of Yazoo City.
The groom is the son of James and Paula Bryant of Yazoo City. He is the grandson of Gail Landrum of Morton and Ruth Speed of Forest.

The Yazoo City Indians traveled to Brandon High School and faced the host team in the Brandon Holiday Christmas Tournament. Despite playing a close first half, the Indians struggled in the third quarter and eventually succumbed to the Bulldogs in a 70-55 loss.
The loss drops the Indians to 11-6 on the year.

Manchester's Ellie Carpenter scored a game-high 20 points and Angel Rae Carpenter chipped in with 14 as the Lady Mavericks coasted to a 55-17 victory over Deer Creek.
Manchester raced out of the gates to a 15-6 first quarter advantage before adding 16 more second quarter points to Deer Creek's three, to take a 31-9 lead at the half. The Lady Mavs continued their dominance in the third quarter, posting a 9-2 advantage before outscoring Deer Creek 15-6 going down the stretch to seal the win.
