Mississippi Governor Tate Reeves (R) has been elected by his fellow Appalachian governors to serve as the 2026 Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) States’ Co-Chair.
ARC announced the news on Monday morning, noting that Reeves will serve as ARC’s 73rd States’ Co-Chair and the sixth Mississippi Governor to hold the position since 1965.

Runners from around the state and country will lace up March 21 to support the state’s only children’s hospital for the fourth annual Run the Rainbow for Children’s.
It will offer 5K, 10K, half-marathon, marathon and 50K routes, each with its own set of surprises.
Gordon Gartrell, a participant of Run the Rainbow and avid runner, looks forward to this yearly event.
