The Yazoo County Airport is one of 17 airports within the state that will receive grant funding to upgrade its runway.
Sen. Roger Wicker announced last week that 17 airports in Mississippi will receive a total of $6,747,541 to upgrade runways, taxiways and lighting, along with the purchase of new safety and navigation equipment.
“Safety and system upgrades will provide a better experience for travelers and support economic growth opportunities in Mississippi,” Wicker said. “These investments will pay dividends for our state’s future.”
The Yazoo County Airport will receive $308,393 to reseal and resurface its existing runway pavement and joints.
The Federal Aviation Administration will award the grant.
