The Yazoo City Indians and Lady Indians both improved to 4-3 overall after a pair of decisive wins over Humphreys County last Friday.
The Indians won by a score of 76-64, while the Lady Indians took a 59-21 victory.
Leading the way for the Indians ws Caleb Crozier with a game-high 26 points.
Demond Collum added 19 and Jacorion Taylor 15 to round out the double figure scorers.
Other scorers were Jahiem Sims with eight, Jacolby Little with six and E’ziren Colum with two.
In girl’s action, the Lady Indians utilized a barrage of three-pointers to take a 23-2 first quarter lead and never looked back.
Lakyra Bankhead and Makenzie Johnson knocked down two first quarter three’s apiece and E’kemii Johnson added one to pace the Indians.
YHS ended the game with eight three’s in total with Torletta Johnson adding two and E’kemii Johnson another one.
Yazoo City returned to action Tuesday in the 1st Annual Hwy 82 Delta Challenge.
The Lady Indians are scheduled to face Thomas Edwards at 10:30 a.m. and the Indians square off with Shaw at 1:30 p.m.
The games will be played at the Leflore County Civic Center. Admission is $10.
