Walmart to close on property by September 30

According to Wayne Morrison, engineer for the City of Yazoo City and the Yazoo City Public Service Commission (YCPSC), the proposed Walmart will close on its property before Sept. 30. Construction will begin Nov. 15.

Trustee questions location of water well

City schools salaries spark debate

County schools request four percent funding increase

Breaking their 12-year tradition, the Yazoo County School District is asking local residents and businesses for a four percent increase in funding for the district's operations for next year.

“Not four mils, but four percent,” Superintendent Becky Fisher emphasized during last Thursday's budget hearing.
