BA girls win District AA Track Meet

The Benton Academy Lady Raider Track team took First Place in the MAIS District AA Track Meet held at Pillow Academy on April 17.

"We think this is the first time in 13 years that Benton Girls have won a varsity district track meet, so we are pretty excited about that," said Coach Casey Arbuckle.

Panthers win second straight district title

The Yazoo County Panthers are now back-to-back district champions after three wins last week.

The Panthers defeated Charleston last Wednesday after a slow start, but scored 17 runs to Charleston's 2 during the 3rd, 4th, and 5th innings.

The winning streak continued into Thursday as Yazoo County beat out Amanda Elzy 12 -2.
