West Point shuts out Indians, 41-0

The Yazoo City Indians stepped off the bus knowing the odds were against them taking the field in their Class 5A first round playoff matchup with powerhouse West Point.

Despite that fact, the Indians fought and gave it their all against the Green Wave before succumbing, 41-0.

Maverick roll over Raiders, 34-8

The Manchester Academy Mavericks jumped out to an early lead and almost pitched a shutout this past Friday night, defeating cross-county rival Benton Academy 34-8.

Benton narrowly missed being shutout after Waylen Dewitt scored with under two minutes to play in the blowout.

Winona whips Mavs, 35-7

With a 35-7 road loss to Winona this past Friday, the Manchester Academy Mavericks dropped to 0-2 on the season.

Adam Edgar scored the Mavs’ lone touchdown and led the way in rushing with 60 yards on three carries.

Jake White had six carries for nine yards and Ethan White had one reception for nine yards.
