Manchester Academy put on a show against Park Place Christian on Tuesday night, defeating them 16-0 and 12-0 in double-header action to improve to 9-4 on the season.
In three games against Park Place this season, Manchester scored a total of 45 runs to 0 on the part of PPCA.
In fact, the Mavericks threw more no-hitters (2) than Park Place scored in the three games.
In game number one of the evening, the Mavericks jumped on the board first with five runs in the top of the inning to give them a big, early lead.
Manchester added six more runs to their lead in the top of the second inning to extend their reach to 11-0.
After a scoreless third inning, Manchester put the final nail in the coffin with a run to make the final 12-0.
Brett Williamson earned the win on the mound for Manchester after throwing four shutout innings, giving up only three hits with six strikeouts.
Williamson also went 1-for-2 with a walk, two RBIs and two runs scored.
Shumpert Kirksey 1-for-1 with two RBIs in the victory.
Warner Griffin, Cade Potter, Thomas Turner, Ravi Patel and Warner Adcock each had an RBI in the win.
The Mavericks racked up 12 runs on only five hits with six walks and six hit by pitches.
In game number two of the night, things did not go any better for the Crusaders of Park Place Christian.
Manchester jumped up on top in the first inning with three runs to take a nice early lead.
The defense for both teams picked up in a big way in the second inning, as the scoring came to a complete halt.
In the third inning, however, the Mavericks quit playing around and put the game on ice with 13 runs, making the final score 16-0.
Junior Lake Clay started the game on the mound for the Mavericks, and he was dominant.
Clay pitched a no-hitter in three innings of work with no walks and two strikeouts.
Warner Griffin went 1-for-3 with two RBIs and two runs scored in the blowout victory.
Thomas Turner had a 2-for-4 day at the plate in game two with an RBI and two runs scored.
Shumpert Kirksey went 2-for-2 with an RBI and one run scored.
Bob Black, Rainer Roberts and Will Fouche each had an RBI in the win.
Next up for the Mavericks is a home contest against St. Aloysius on Tuesday night.
