Manchester Academy’s journey to an undefeated regular season has only one more challenge in the road after the Mavericks handily took care of Hebron 41-0 on Friday night.
The win allowed the Mavs to improve to 9-0 on the season.
With nine minutes remaining in the first quarter, Parks Poe took off on a 20-yard touchdown run to give the Mavericks a lead they would not lose. After an Upton Hitt 2-point conversion pass, Manchester was up 8-0.
Just two minutes later, Upton Hitt connected with Blake Coghlan on a 40-yard touchdown pass to extend their lead to 14-0.
Before the quarter was over, the Mavericks had tacked on two more touchdowns to push their lead to 28-0.
In the early portion of the second quarter, Michael Williams broke off a 20-yard run for a score to extend Manchester’s lead to 34-0.
Parks Poe added another touchdown to the cause with three minutes left in the half on a 15-yard run to make it a 41-0 game after the ensuing PAT.
That score proved to be the final.
The Mavericks rattled off 382 total yards on offense, 174 rushing and 208 passing.
Upton Hitt went 7-for-10 through the air with 208 Yards and three touchdowns.
Blake Coghlan led the way receiving with three catches for 93 yards and a touchdown.
Parks Poe had two catches for 46 yards and a touchdown. He also had two carries for 31 yards and a touchdown and racked up three tackles.
Reid Bain made the most of his catch, scoring a touchdown on the 43-yard bomb.
Ty Kilpatrick caught a 24-yard pass, took two carries 15 yards, and led the Mavericks with five tackles.
Greyson Winstead led the Mavericks with eight carries for 57 yards. He also tacked on three tackles.
Michael Williams took three carries 39 yards and scored two touchdowns.
Dylan Dendy had five carries for 32 yards and had three tackles.
Matt Carroll picked off a pass in the win.
Hayes Bardwell had four tackles.
Manchester will end the regular season on Friday night when they travel to face DeSoto.
Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
