Two Yazoo City men were arrested this week in connection with a Madison armed robbery and kidnapping case.
George Giles, 17, was charged with armed robbery and kidnapping. Ezzard McRae, 21, was charged with accessory to the fact to armed robbery.
A Flora man was also arrested in connection with the incident. Thomas Scott McRae, 18, was charged with armed robbery and kidnapping.
“This was a good joint operation in this investigation,” said Chief Jeff Curtis. “Our detective division assisted with the investigation and worked closely with the Madison Police Department to find evidence and locate the suspects.”
The armed robbery took place last Friday in Madison at the Regions Bank, located on Webster Circle.
“The victim stated that he was in the company of two individuals earlier in the evening when one of the individuals pulled a handgun,” Madison police officials said. “They drove him to a local ATM in an attempt to force the victim to withdraw money.”
When the victim was unable to withdraw any money, the suspects then drove him around town, pointing the gun to his head.
Eventually, the suspects dropped the victim off at Cross Creek Subdivision, located off of Highway 51 in Madison. But not before they stole his shoes and cell phone.
Through the investigation, the suspects were identified as Thomas Scott McRae and Giles.
Thanks to the Yazoo City Police Department and the Yazoo County Sheriff’s Department, both Giles and Ezzard McRae were arrested last Saturday.
Thomas Scott McRae turned himself in to authorities at the Madison Police Department the following day.
As of press time, all three men remained in jail with no bond. They are scheduled to appear before Judge Dale Danks in the City of Madison Municipal Court.
