A woman who was allegedly cashing counterfeit checks all over the state landed in the Yazoo County jail this week.
Rhonda King, 52, was charged with fraud after investigators linked her to cashing forged checks at a local grocery store.
Terry Gann, chief investigator with the Yazoo County Sheriff’s Department, said King allegedly cashed counterfeit checks at the former McDade’s Market on Fifteenth Street.
“We are just now catching her, but we believe she was doing this all over the state,” Gann said. “She had several alias names, which made it difficult to get to her.”
King, who could be from the Meridian area, remained in jail as of press time.
