The suspected accomplice in a murder Friday in Vicksburg remains at large after authorities searched for him late into the night.
The man, whose name has not been confirmed, is described as a black male with shoulder length hair. He was last seen wearing red shorts and did not appear to be wearing shoes. He may be armed as a pistol was reported stolen in the area.
Investigators searched the Perry Creek area late into the night. Search dogs were brought to the area, but the wet ground hindered their efforts.
The suspect was seen by some residents attempting to flag down drivers in the area.
The man investigators are searching for is believed to have helped a murder suspect flee from the scene of a crime in Vicksburg.
Summer McGee, 20, of Yazoo County is charged with the murder of 37-year-old Moses Lockett. Vicksburg police investigators believe McGee shot Luckett in the head Friday afternoon.
A male suspect was seen driving McGee away from the scene of the crime. The truck they were reported to have been traveling in was later stopped by the Yazoo County Sheriff’s Department on Miss. Highway 3 near Eagle Bend Road.
McGee was taken into custody, but the male suspect fled the scene on foot and escaped into the woods.
