A shooting in rural Yazoo County last weekend left one man behind bars and, fortunately, no injuries.
Lugene Porter was charged with aggravated assault after a heated argument with a female victim led to gunfire.
The incident occurred around 1:10 a.m. last Sunday at a residence on Vaughan Road.
“Porter and a female victim got into an argument that led to him firing two shots at her,” said Terry Gann, chief investigator with the Yazoo County Sheriff’s Department. “He only fired shots at her with none hitting her. No injuries were reported at the scene.”
Porter remained in jail as of press time.
