A Yazoo City man on probation was arrested after he allegedly fired shots into a home after a heated altercation.
Richard Baker was charged with shooting into an occupied dwelling and simple assault.
Capt. Tilmon Clifton, with the Yazoo City Police Department, said officers responded to 147 Charles Street in reference to shots being fired into the residence.
“The house was occupied by multiple people at the time,” Clifton said. “The victim said that Richard Baker was involved in an altercation there just prior to the shooting. The victim said he fired multiple shots into the home where the family was at the time.”
Baker remained in jail as of press time with a $75,000 bond.
“The case is still under investigation,” Clifton added. “Baker could face more charges pending our investigation.”
