A juvenile remains in custody on attempted murder charges after he allegedly shot another male early Saturday morning.
This recent arrest stems from a growing number of problems associated with juveniles firing shots at Shady Lane Apartments.
Capt. William Nevels, with the Yazoo City Police Department, said a second suspect is also wanted in connection with this weekend's shooting.
"The victim drove himself to the hospital around 3 a.m. Saturday after being shot several times on the west end of Eleventh Street," Nevels said. "The shooting was caught on video from a nearby residence." Nevels said the video shows at least two individuals participating in the shooting. The juvenile in custody now allegedly fired shots, as well as another suspect on the loose.
"This whole thing stems from a previous shooting incident at Shady Lane Apartments," Nevels said.
With the assistance of the Yazoo County Sheriff's Department, the juvenile was arrested at a home in Yazoo County.
As of press time, the victim remained in the hospital.
