A man who said he acted in self-defense was arrested this week after he allegedly stabbed another man during an altercation.
Desmond Hudson was charged with aggravated assault early Tuesday morning as investigators continue to piece together what happened during the heated confrontation in Shady Lane.
“Hudson is claiming the victim and others were in a car when they approached him,” said Terry Gann, chief investigator with the Yazoo County Sheriff’s Department. “He said they stopped, jumped out of the car and attacked him. He claims he had to stab one of the men in self-defense.”
However, the victim is telling another side of the story to investigators, Gann said.
“The victim admits that he and Hudson got into an argument,” Gann said. “He said he stepped out of the vehicle to fight Hudson, who then stabbed him.”
Gann said investigators are speaking with witnesses and will soon view video surveillance footage to determine what really happened during the incident.
