The District 2 Supervisor race is now down to three candidates.
W.F. “Bill” Anderson withdrew from the race this week, according to Circuit Clerk Robert Coleman.
Anderson is the second independent candidate to drop out of the race. Nate VanCleave withdrew a week earlier.
The District 2 race now features incumbent David Berry against Remona Suttlar, who won the Democratic primary, and independent candidate Joshua Waters.
District 5 Supervisor S Collins, who serves as president of the Board of Supervisors, is the only supervisor facing no opposition in the Nov. 5 election.
District 4 Supervisor Jayne Dew recently withdrew from the race, meaning either Democratic candidate Marcia Arp or independent candidate David Shipp will be the first supervisor without the last name Dew to represent District 4 in nearly three decades.
