A homeless woman was arrested after she allegedly burglarized a deer camp, setting it on fire to keep warm.
Destiny Williams, 25, was charged with arson, burglary, petit larceny and possession of paraphernalia.
Chief Deputy Edward “Tra” Ferrell said Williams allegedly broke into a deer camp on Wisteria Road in Yazoo County.
“The suspect is homeless and broke into the deer camp,” Ferrell said. “She placed some clothes in a bag and set them on fire to have light and keep warm. The fire eventually caught the wall of the camp on fire.”
Ferrell said the deer camp was not destroyed by the blaze, but there was damage reported with a scorched sheet rock wall.
“She attempted to barricade herself into the camp once deputies arrived,” Ferrell said. “But deputies were able to make entry through the back, and they found her hiding under a bed.”
