Two suspects remain behind bars after allegedly being found with drugs in their vehicle following a chase with deputies in Yazoo County.
Jason Wilson, 37, was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of paraphernalia. Jeffery Dees, 27, was charged with fleeing law enforcement, reckless driving, failure to yield, no driver’s license and probation violation.
Chief Deputy Edward “Tra” Ferrell said the arrests were made after the suspects led deputies on a chase down Myrleville Road last Friday at 4:45 p.m.
“We were conducting a safety checkpoint near the intersection of Sunny Lane and Myrleville Road,” Ferrell said. “They approached the checkpoint, coming east down Myrleville Road, and refused to stop. They eventually drove into a driveway where we were able to apprehend them.”
Ferrell said crystal methamphetamine was found in Wilson’s pocket and inside a book bag in the front seat of the vehicle. He added that Dees had recently been released from jail on previous charges.
