Now, back to September! . . . You do know why we have a National Selfie Day in this age of hand-held technology, don’t you!? – Because the majority of the population can’t spell the word NARCISSIST!!! Haaaaaa!!!!
I remember an old phrase I heard spoken during my childhood, often applied to my generation. As a child of the 60s and 70s, adults would say, “I never thought I’d see the day . . .!” This rolled off my grandfather’s tongue, my mother’s tongue, and tongues of many other seasoned and wise adults as they watched the “Age of Aquarius” unfold. A generation was abandoning its moral compass through “drugs, sex, and rock-n-roll.”
Now I find myself using the same statement as this great nation becomes heartless and self-centered to a degree which I don’t recall in my nearly sixty years on the planet. - Did you know? In the month of August there were MAJOR raids which rescued missing children!? One particular rescue was a find of twenty-nine children, ages three to seventeen, in (I believe) an old mobile home in Georgia. STOLEN HUMANS! FOUND! It didn’t get much press because we have a quarter of the nation too busy beatin’ the hell out of a duly elected president to care, and this rescue of life didn’t fit their agenda! The same party wants to justify deadly riots and destruction in our streets, in the hopes that most of those thugs will vote and help them take power.
During the Republican National Convention, did you see the former abortion clinic worker who spoke in graphic details on the heinous procedure of aborting (murdering) a human child? This form of murder is legal and celebrated in Democratic circles! Sadly, the next day, a “Minister” came out boldly stating that murdering babies (abortion) was not against biblical principles of Christianity. WHO IS THIS FORKED-TONGUE DEVIL? Yet, he (even though the media hates anything with Christ’s name near it) got all kinds of press. He fit their agenda! Hmmmm . . . I recall the Word of God saying something about a wicked and perverse generation. PLEASE! If you have a strong gut, research online and view the gruesome process of late term abortion. (CAUTION! Have a barf-bag ready!) Still, one third of the people in this nation are promoting and will vote for a candidate whose party is not only in favor or this procedure, but also has CELEBRATED the State of New York for passing a law to allow a newborn infant to be set aside to die if the mother doesn’t want responsibility at birth. Oh, this article is not about abortion, as such, or political conventions. All I can say is one convention did nothing but spew hatred towards a sitting president, while attempting to make you feel wrong for wanting a free and sovereign nation where you can build a life in freedom. They would rather you become beholding to a milk-sop government who feeds you, “equally”. The other convention was an exaltation of the greatest nation in history, America! People, like the abortion clinic woman, spoke of the values which enabled us to become the greatest nation in history and how this greatness has allowed America to bless endless millions, not only here, but worldwide. “God speed His return,” is all I can say, if the godless are allowed to prevail this November. They will take this God-founded nation from sovereignty into ideologies of Marxism, Communism, and Socialism. GOD SAVE US!!
“Well, Brother Royce, you’ve taken us on quite an emotional ride,” you might say! “If your point isn’t stolen humans, deadly riots, aborted children, or political parties, WHAT IS IT,” you ask?! “Afterall, you’ve even used that phrase, ‘beatin’ the hell’, talking about the president, and that doesn’t sound very preacher like . . .” HERE IT IS FRIEND! The problem with this entire picture is, “ME”! Mind you, I’m not saying that in personal reference; I’m saying the word ME, a self-centered spirit of self-aggrandizement is why we are where we are in this nation at this point in history!! TRULY!! We’re talking about the condition of the collective heart of this nation.
The greatest preacher since Christ walked the planet (personal view) warned a young up-and-comer named Timothy that there would come a time when folks would be so in love with themselves they would not care or even recognize when the proverbial wheels came off their (a)morality. (II Timothy 3) Guys like me, wonder how in the world people became so absolutely cold, blinded TO THE VALUE OF OTHER HUMANS!!! That same great Apostle also told folks in a city called Corinth not to be surprised. He said the god (SUPER LITTLE ‘g’) of this age would BLIND the hearts and minds of many such that they could not see the truth of the Gospel. (II Corinthians 4) He, Paul even reminded those of us who DO know truth that God’s stuff is spiritually discerned. When we speak, it’s gonna sound like foolishness to the unregenerate! (I Cor. 2:14) Sadly, I must stop being surprised and simply make a difference where I am able. Even tougher to swallow are the words of a guy who was up-close-and-personal with the King of the Universe. Matthew reminded us that we needed to be faithful, but also assured us of encounters where we just, as they say in Yazoo, “have to pull up and move on.” He calls it, “casting pearls before swine.” (Mathew 7) As my grandmother used to say, “You can’t make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear.” Accept it, many of the deceived would rather serve themselves, even to a deadly end, than hear truth which demands them to consider someone besides themselves. As much as it breaks my heart, we have a generation pushing an agenda of freedom to hump like dogs in heat (without recourse), ignore the slavery and destruction of millions of children, and choose a “ME ONLY” mantra, which in the end, leads only to destruction.
You and I, friend, must decide where we’re gonna stand, and stand! In all ways, we must do what we can to promote and encourage the return of a moral compass to this nation. From there, we simply accept it. There are many who have thrown the compass away. Following sound direction requires self-discipline, self-sacrifice, and healthy self-abasement. . . a price they’re unwilling to pay.
