A habitual offender was supposed to head to trial last month, but he remains on the run from local authorities.
Fugitive Bobby McGee was scheduled to head to Yazoo County Circuit Court last month for a number of weapon and assault charges, including aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, possession of a stolen firearm and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
But he remains wanted in connection to a separate murder case that made headlines across the state last June.
Bobby McGee is wanted in connection to a Vicksburg murder case that his sister, Summer McGee, was charged with last May.
Summer McGee, of Yazoo, was charged with first-degree murder by the Vicksburg Police Department in connection with the shooting death of 37-year-old Moses Luckett. Vicksburg investigators believe Bobby McGee also played a role in the murder.
During his sister’s arrest on Highway 3 in Yazoo County, Bobby McGee fled into the nearby woods. He allegedly stole a weapon from a vehicle in the Tinsley area and also allegedly stole a Denbury truck to flee the area. The Denbury truck was later found near Center Ridge Road near a vacant house.
Bobby McGee also has a separate warrant in connection with a drive-by shooting last May.
Terry Gann, chief investigator with the Yazoo County Sheriff’s Department, said the United States Marshals Service is also assisted with the search for McGee.
To report the whereabouts of Bobby McGee, call the sheriff’s department at 746-5611 or Crimestoppers at 746-TIPS.
