Identity of body found in drainage ditch confirmed as Arkansas woman

Authorities have determined that the body discovered Saturday morning in a watery drainage ditch near a Greenwood highway belonged to an Arkansas woman who they believe had been staying at a nearby hotel.
They still don’t know, though, what caused her death.

Rash of hunting camp burglaries reported in the area

A rash of deer camp burglaries in surrounding counties seemed to have slithered over into Yazoo County with a recent report of thefts in the Satartia area.
Chief Deputy Terry Gann, with the Yazoo County Sheriff’s Department, said a burglary was reported at a deer camp in the Eagle Bend community.
