James Michael “Mike” Lightsey was born October 6, 1952, in Laurel, to James Joseph Lightsey and Patsy Ruth Boutwell Lightsey. He died January 9, 2026.
Mike graduated from R. H. Watkins High School (1970), Jones Community College (1972), and the University of Southern Mississippi (BSBA 1973, MBA 1974).

Catherine Powell Klipple, age 99, died peacefully on the evening of December 24, 2025, at The Arbor in Ridgeland. She was born in Jackson, to Mr. and Mrs. Walter Frith Powell (Pearl McInnis) on August 18, 1926.
She lived most of her life in Jackson, graduating from Central High School in 1944. She subsequently earned a BA in mathematics from Millsaps College and an MS in biostatistics from Columbia University School of Public Health in New York. Throughout her adult life, she took many Millsaps Enrichment classes and frequently attended Friday Forums.

Mary Tumasz Lackey, aged 78, passed away peacefully on January 7, 2026, surrounded by her family. Born on September 22, 1947, Mary was the daughter of Eddie and Bobbie Tumasz. She was raised in Jackson and graduated from Murrah High School. Mary then attended the University of Mississippi. In 1967, she married her high school sweetheart, Carl Lackey. Richard Carrington Stockett Jr., 90, a retired realtor, died January 3, 2026, at St. Catherine’s Village in Madison.
A native of Jackson, Richard was born August 5, 1935 to Beth and Richard C. Stockett Sr. An Eagle Scout, Richard graduated from Central High School in 1953, and from Mississippi State University in 1957 with a B.S. in business. While at State, Richard was inducted into Omicron Delta Kappa and also served as president of both the campus YMCA and of Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity.

James Robert Jeffries, age 84, passed away on Tuesday, December 2, 2025. He was born in Akron, Ohio on July 23, 1941, to Callie Mae Porter Jeffries and Theodore James Jeffries. He attended grammar school in Greenwood and went on to graduate from Gulfport High School in 1959. Jim served in the Navy from 1959 to 1965 as Petty Officer Third Class (PO3) in communications. His military service includes a year aboard the USS Forrestal aircraft carrier and later transferred to land duty in Bahrain in the Persian Gulf.

Dr. Glen Curtiss Warren, aged 94, died on December 18, 2025, at River Oaks Hospital in Jackson, a hospital that he co-founded. Glen was born on November 2, 1931, in D’Lo to Amanda Warren and Leonard Warren during the Great Depression. His father was fascinated with airplanes, so he named his son after Glenn Curtiss, the aviation pioneer, and dropped one of the ‘n’s’. Glen’s humble early years were spent working hard on his family’s small farm during World War II, while many of the men were away in the military.

Born September 20, 1929, in Brownsville, Tenn., she was the daughter of Isabel Drake Dixon and Chester Moore Dixon Sr. She attended the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss), where she met the love of her life, Robert J. Fuerst Sr. They shared 61 years of marriage and enjoyed traveling, Ole Miss football, playing bridge, and time with family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert J. Fuerst Sr.; her parents; and her son, Robert J. Fuerst Jr.

Eunice House Nabors passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home on December 16, 2025, where her son, Tom, had been her caretaker for the past several years. She passed away in the early morning hours on her birthday and was exactly 99 years old.
Eunice was born on December 16, 1926, to Olivia and Alonzo House in Houston, Miss. She was the youngest of six siblings and the last survivor. She lost her father to pneumonia when she was only seven years old, leaving her mother to raise and provide for the family.

Ethelene Sellars Stubbs went to be with her Lord on November 24, 2025. Ethelene was born April 23, 1938, the first daughter of John Douglas and Mary Frances Lovern Sellars, in Stewart. Ethelene grew up in the Mississippi Delta where she attended Benoit High School. She spent most of her life in the Jackson area.
