The Yazoo City High School, Class of 1992, were blessed to celebrate their 30th class reunion June 3, 2022 to June 8, 2022.
The class reunion kicked off with a cookout serving the Yazoo community on Friday at the Wardell Leach Complex with class member Mr. Richard Griffin Sr. serving as the grill master. The BBQ dinner, beverages, snow cones, popcorn, cotton candy, snacks, game festivities, music, fellowship and train ride were awesome. The basketball balls and goals were provided by Mr. Johnny Staples. It was enjoyable.
The class members wore red reunion tshirts and black pants. The class continued to the after party at the American Legion Hut with an Ole school pantomime show featuring imposters of L L Cool J, Salt n Pepa, 8 Ball & MJG, and Bev, Biv & Devo.
On Saturday morning June 4, 2022, the class had a heartfelt memorial balloon release program for our 1992 heavenly angels, with a beautiful solo by Mr. Terrance Freeman at the entrance of the Yazoo City High School. The class also attended a graveside homegoing celebration for a dear brother/classmate in which the class members wore white memorial tshirts and presented the 1992 Class Resolution and love offering in his honor to the family.
The morning was concluded with an excellent brunch at Dream Innovation Inc. Breakfast was prepared by Ms. Sonya Delaware. Both class tshirts were created and designed by class member Circuit Clerk Robert Coleman of Coleman Creations.
On Saturday evening, the 1992 class members accompanied by over 50 educators from grades K through 12, alderman, alderwoman, circuit clerk, Mayor of Yazoo City, former Board of Educator, family and friends all gathered to witness a magnificent reenactment of the graduation ceremony that took place 30 years ago, on June 4,1992. The class members wore black graduation hats, red/black tassels, white personalized stoles, with red outfits for the queens and black suits for the kings. They marched in and received their diploma certificates from Mrs. Ramona Suttlar and Alderwoman Elizabeth Thomas. The mistress of ceremony was Ms. Pamela Alexander.
The graduation ceremony was followed by an elegant dinner prepared and served by Allow Cornell Catering. The cake and dessert table was beautifully prepared and served by Deelightfully Made By Darius. The festivities took place at a gorgeous venue, The Pointe, with amazing decorations, by DStinctive Events. The beautiful memorial tribute table was designed by class member Dana Vaughan-Cousin. Candles were lit by class members in recognition of our 1992 heavenly angels. The refreshing beverages were dispensed by Mr. Emerson Collum Sr, Ms. Jamina Buckner and Mr. Dante’ Williams. All souvenirs and gift bag items were designed and prepared by Elevated Events Emporium. The graduation stoles were made by Mr. Patrick Howard. The 360 photo booth was provided by Motion Pictures 360. The beautiful yard art was prepared by Alluring Affairs, LLC. The disc jockey for the entire weekend was Mr. Jamond “Money Mon” Miller. The photographer for the entire weekend was Mr. Rodney Hart and the videographer for the weekend was Mr. James King. The graduation programs and reunion souvenir books were created by Mrs. Raymonda Delaware. The diploma certificates, military certificates and memorial program cards were designed by Mrs. Deidre McInnis.
The Reunion Vice President Mr. Gregory Burns, along with the 1992 Class members, presented the Reunion Class President Mrs. Veronica White Hudson with a beautiful silver plated lighted sculpture and stand with a photo engraved of the entire class. Also, Alderman Charlie Jenkins presented Veronica with a monetary gift. The class members also received two separate gift bags and a personalized champagne glass from Veronica and Gregory as a token of appreciation, dedication, positive support and love. The night ended with a 1992 Ole School Throwback Jam with a surprise performance from the Millennium Temptations from Jackson, Mississippi.
On Sunday, June 5, 2022, the class reunion continued with a wonderful trip to Las Vegas, Nevada with family and friends. The group explored many festivities in Las Vegas, including shopping and dancing, a party bus to Hoover Dam, a stroll on the strip, a pool party and a party bus to a fascinating farewell dinner on the 106th floor.
The five-day reunion was truly a success. The Yazoo City High School, Class of 1992 Family, would like to thank everyone that assisted, attended, participated and supported their 30th class reunion celebration! May God continue to bless our hometown, Yazoo City, Mississippi.
