The Yazoo Chapter of the Daughter of the American Revolution attended the 119th Mississippi Society Daughters of the American Revolution State Conference held at the Hilton February 20-22, 2025.
The theme of the State Conference was “Bridging Pathways to Patriotism.”
Pamela Rouse Wright, President General, attended the conference and helped give out award certificates, along with Cindy Mangum, MS State Regent. Those members receiving special recognition were Sue Patterson, Chapter Regent; Priscilla Harper, Master Reports Chair; Montine Bond, State Regents Project Co-Chair; Cathryn C. Leal, MSSDAR Outstanding Junior; Kathleen Olivieri , Scrapbook Chair; and JoAnne Collins, Co-Chair First Place Chapter Scrapbook.
Yazoo Chapter won a total of 22 awards.
Janet Whittington, President of the Rosalie Governing Board for the MSSDAR 1832 Historic Home Rosalie, gave a Program on “The Legacy of the Mississippi Daughters -Our gift to the Nation.” A montage presentation of Yazoo Chapter’s Patriotic Activities was shown at the Chapter Regents’ banquet. A 250-Poster starting off celebrating America’s 250th birthday anniversary was on display. Beside the poster there were 300 250 brochures honoring our founding Fathers and Women designed by Kelly Olivieri Jones.
Yazoo Chapter donated non perishable food items to the VA Medical Center Food Bank for Veterans in Jackson, MS as part of the Conference Project.
