A week of family fun and entertainment approaches as the Yazoo County Fair sets up its annual showcase this week at the Fairgrounds Oct. 10-18.
This year marks the Yazoo County Fair Association’s 97th anniversary, making it one of the longest consecutive running county fairs in the state of Mississippi.
The fair will once again be provided by Miller Spectacular Shows.
"Miller Spectacular Shows does a great job of mixing the variety of rides up each year, so we can expect a few new rides along with the mix of all the favorite traditional ones,” said Martin McGraw, chairman of the Yazoo County Fair Association. “Miller Spectacular does a really good job of bringing in a good, clean show.”
The fair will be held from Friday, Oct. 10, until Saturday, Oct. 18. General admission includes all rides with free parking.
Admission prices include Monday-Thursday, $10; Friday-Saturday, $12; and Saturday and Sunday Matinees, $10. Senior citizens, ages 60 years and older, are admitted for only $1. And children under 36 inches can attend for free.
T-shirts are also available for purchase. The Davis Mobile Petting Zoo will also be on site. And the Mississippi State Extension Service will also host its variety of booths.
Hours are Monday-Thursday, 6 p.m. until 10 p.m.; Friday and Saturday, 6 p.m. until 11 p.m.; Saturday Matinee, 11 a.m. until 3 p.m.; and Sunday Matinee, 1 p.m. until 5 p.m.
