Election season is on the brink for the city of Yazoo City with qualifying deadline for city council posts beginning in November.
The qualification deadline for the city mayoral and council positions will be held from Nov. 4 until Dec. 4.
In-person absentee voting will begin on Dec. 19, which is also the date that campaign signs may appear within the city limits. Saturday voting from 8 a.m. until noon will be held on Jan. 24, 2026 and Jan. 31, 2026.
The primary election will be held on Feb. 2, 2026 with a runoff election, if necessary, to follow on Feb. 23, 2026.
Saturday absentee voting for any potential runoffs will be held on Feb. 14, 2026 and Feb. 21, 2026.
The general election will be held on April 6, 2026.
In-person absentee voting for the general election starts on March 9, 2026, with Saturday absentee voting from 8 a.m. until noon on March 28, 2026, and April 4, 2026.
