Regarding President Trump pardoning those involved in the January 6, 2021 insurgent attack in Washington: I wonder if any British sailors were injured when the ship was attacked on December 16, 1773 (known as the Boston Tea Party).
We were a colony of the British at that time and this attack was not because there was physically harmed groups in the colony. This were done only for a dislike of the British and the high tax on tea, etc. (supposedly there were primarily more tea sippers then than we were coffee sippers). They were called “the Sons of Liberty.”
History reports that the attackers were disguised as Indians. It appears that neither of these two insurgent groups (those in Washington or Boston) were lawless people, but strongly concerned patriotic people.
It appears that none of the two groups intended to harm or kill. In Washington things happened so fast.
It may not be known as to how many officers were injured, but the largest harm done was the loss of life of Ashli Babbitt, a 35 year old mother of four who had served 14 years in the military.
It has been reported that she had no weapon on her and she was 5’ 3” tall and weighed about 110 pounds. Although small, she was known to be a tough cookie. Regardless, it seems that there is no justification for her being shot. The news media report that she had an American flag wrapped around her. Several months ago Epoch newspaper had a full page article about this incident. The writer seemed to believe that Mrs. Babbitt was murdered. I don’t know, but it appears that this case has not been tried in court, but has been pushed aside by unconcerned politicians.
