Two inmates from Yazoo City’s federal prison were discovered missing from the satellite camp Monday afternoon. The satellite camp is located next to the Yazoo City Low Facility and is considered a minimum-security facility.
According to a prison press release, Javier Del Rio-Larios and Celestino Valdez were reported missing around 4:30 p.m. Monday.
Del Rio-Larios, 38, is a Hispanic male with black hair, brown eyes and is 6’2’’ tall, weighing about 225 pounds. Valdez, 31, is also a Hispanic male with black hair, brown eyes and is 5’8” tall, weighing about 174 pounds.
Del Rio-Larios was sentenced in the Southern District of Texas to a 174-month sentence for conspiracy to possess with intent to Distribute 500 grams or more of methamphetamine. Valdez was sentenced in the Eastern District of North Carolina to a 120-month sentence for possession with intent to distribute a mixture containing 500 grams or more of methamphetamine and 100 grams or more of heroin, aiding and abetting, and possessing a firearm during a drug trafficking crime.
An internal investigation was initiated by officials, including the United States Marshals Service, the Federal Bureau of Investigation and other law enforcement agencies.
