The highly anticipated exterior wall repair to the historic Triangle Cultural Center is slated to begin within a couple of weeks.
Alma Jones, Yazoo City’s grant manager, said a pre-construction meeting was held on April 1 among city officials, architect Belinda Stewart and the construction contractor.
Last month, the Board of Mayor and Aldermen approved the lowest bid from Structural Waterproofing and Restoration, Inc. for $198,000.
“The Notice to Proceed was issued to the contractor on April 2,” Jones added. “The Contractor is expected to start setting up on site within a couple of weeks from NTP (equipment setup) to begin the construction.”
According to the bid, the project only covers the Triangle’s “north side façade and exterior restoration.” Repairs to the local historical center have made headlines for over five years.
