County survives overtime thriller at Morton

If fans not in attendance at the Yazoo County-Morton football game Friday night happened to catch a glimpse at the scoreboard, they must have thought an exhibition basketball game was being played instead of football.
In what turned out to be an offensive shootout, Yazoo County outlasted a game Morton squad, 64-62 in an overtime classic.

Manchester falls to Riverfield, 21-14

The Manchester Academy Mavericks went on the road this past Friday and narrowly lost to Riverfield, 21-14.

Neither team scored in the first quarter, and it was the Mavericks who cracked the scoreboard first on a three yard second quarter run. Ethan White kicked the PAT, giving MA a 7-0 lead at halftime.

Yazoo County sophomore quarterback T.J. Rials is very familiar with the football field at Yazoo City High School. How could he not be?

It had been his home for all of his football life until this season when he transferred to neighboring Yazoo County.
