Mavericks end successful season in second round of South State tournament

The Manchester Academy Mavericks ended their basketball season last week after falling to Sylva Bay 57-55 in the second round of the South State Tournament.

Coach Jacob Iles said that the Manchester boys consistently kept falling behind in the game and had to keep fighting back to close the deficits on the scoreboard.

The Manchester Academy Lady Mavericks brought home the District 4 2A Championship trophy on Saturday after defeating Greenville Christian School 50-35.

The Manchester girls started out the district tournament on Thursday, Feb. 6, against their cross town rivals from Benton Academy.

Mavericks finish third in district, win first game at South State tournament

The Manchester Academy Mavericks won the 3rd place spot in the District Tournament this weekend after defeating Benton Academy 67-51.

The Manchester boys started out the tournament by facing off against Greenville St. Joe on Thursday, Feb. 6.

Despite a hard-fought battle against the Irish, the Mavs fell 67-52.
