Police officers have arrested a suspect in recent criminal acts against local business merchants within Yazoo City. And Chief Terry Gann said more arrests are coming.
Local merchants and business owners reported a rash of burglaries and attempted burglaries within the community last month. After an investigation, officers with the Yazoo City Police Department arrested a suspect after he confessed to two criminal acts.
Marquaveon Davis was charged with burglary and attempted burglary.
Gann said Davis confessed to burglarizing Plaza Twin Cinema, located at 1405 Plaza Drive, and the attempted burglary of Anderson’s Jewelry on Main Street on Sept 2.
“Davis stated that two black male juveniles were also with him at the time of the burglaries,” Gann said. “More arrests are coming as this investigation continues.”
