A suspect allegedly involved with a stabbing incident at a local apartment complex was arrested by deputies last week.
Christopher Collins, 32, was charged with aggravated assault and several other charges after he fled from deputies with the Yazoo County Sheriff’s Department.
“He was involved in an incident with a victim being stabbed at Shady Lane Apartments,” said Sheriff Jeremy McCoy. “He ran from deputies, but after the search, he was soon discovered in the attic of a house.”
As of press time, Collins remained behind bars at the Yazoo County Regional Correctional Facility.
McCoy also said several other arrests were made last week stemming from traffic violations and safety roadblocks.
“An 18-wheeler was pulled over on Highway 16, and the driver was found in possession of marijuana,” McCoy said. “He was charged with possession of marijuana and driving under the influence.”
While waiting on tow services to remove the 18-wheeler from the busy roadway, McCoy said another arrest was made during a safety checkpoint.
Rafael Gallion, 21, was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of stolen firearm, driving under the influence, suspended driver’s license, switched tag and window tint violation.
