A male suspect remains behind bars on rape charges after the victim’s family reported the alleged abuse to local authorities.
Willard Bradford, 39, is charged with rape and remains in the Yazoo County Regional Correctional Facility as of press time.
Chief Deputy Terry Gann, with the Yazoo County Sheriff’s Department, said the teenage victim’s family reported the alleged abuse to the department, which resulted in a warrant issued for Bradford’s arrest.
“Forensic interviews were conducted with the victim, leading to the warrant and arrest of Bradford on rape charges,” Gann said.
Gann said, to his knowledge, the suspect had no prior criminal history of sexual assault.
