A female driver from New Orleans claimed she was lost when she was found parked at the maximum-security level of the local federal prison. However, when a large amount of contraband was found inside her vehicle, her story began to fall apart.
Trechell Washington, 27, was charged with possession of contraband at a federal prison last Thursday.
Simon Stubblefield, with the Yazoo County Sheriff’s Department, said Washington’s vehicle was found in the parking lot of the local federal prison.
“She stated that she was trying to make a phone call and was lost, coming off of Highway 3,” Stubblefield said. “But when the prison guard approached her vehicle, he discovered 30 cell phones, 60 packs of cigarettes and other contraband items in her vehicle.”
Washington’s arrest makes the second time contraband was attempted to be smuggled into the local federal over the last month.
