A sting operation with the Yazoo County Sheriff’s Department and the Yazoo City Police Department led to the recovery of stolen trailers and two suspects behind bars.
Robert Collins Jr. and Tylan Richardson were both charged with grand larceny and sale of stolen property.
Police Chief Terry Gann said his department joined forces with the sheriff’s department to set up a sting operation, hoping to “purchase” trailers they believed were stolen.
“Two individuals showed up and attempted to sell us these stolen trailers,” Gann said. “Once we established that we would be taking them into custody, one suspect attempted to flee the scene. That suspect almost struck an officer with his vehicle but was stopped by a deputy.”
Gann said two stolen trailers were recovered, and investigators continue to look for two other trailers possibly within the city. He added that this case is an ongoing investigation.
