Dear Editor,
When I read the article in The Herald concerning the Manna House in desperate need of assistance, the word “desperate” was enough for me to know this is serious. I thought about what Jesus said to Simon Peter (John 21:15). When they had finished breakfast, do you love me more than these? Yes, Lord, he said. You know I do. Jesus said, “feed my lambs.”
Then I was reminded of what my pastor says to us. “Meet people where they are.” My first thought was asking myself what I could do to help and motivate others to do the same. Their immediate need was food. That is where I will start.
I went to Kaye’s and purchased a $100 gift card and presented it to the organization. I have also pledged to do the same for the next 12 months.
I’m asking the community to follow my lead in any way that you can. I want to do what Jesus asked Simon Peter. Feed my lambs if you love me. I do love me some Jesus.
