The Indians of Yazoo City started district play 0-1 after falling 46-24 to Clarksdale on Friday night.
The loss brought the Indians’ overall record to 5-2.
Senior quarterback Kory Price went 12-for-21 through the air for 232 yards with three touchdowns and two interceptions. He also rushed eight times for 62 yards with another touchdown.
Jayden Stewart had a big game for the Indians as an all-purpose back. He rushed the ball 17 times for 128 yards and hauled in two touchdown passes totaling 15 yards.
Percy Green had two catches for 66 yards and a touchdown.
Telvin Robinson led the receivers with 89 yards on three catches.
Claude Collum had three catches for 40 yards in the loss.
La’Tavious Taylor led the Indians with 12 total tackles in the defeat.
Senior John Jones had 11 total tackles, a sack, and a fumble recovery.
Marquain Allen and Allen Hudson each had eight total tackles.
The Indians will try to even their conference record up at 1-1 on Friday night when they host Greenwood High School.
The Bulldogs are also 5-2 on the year after crushing Gentry High School 50-0 this past Friday.
Kickoff at Yazoo City High is set for 7 p.m. on Friday night.
