For a second straight week Benton Academy saw a comeback attempt fall short.
Central Holmes defeated the Raiders 36-21 on homecoming night.
Arion Warrren got BA off to a strong start defensively with an interception, but the Raiders were unable to capitalize on the turnover.
Central Holmes used its offensive speed to build a 13-0 lead in the first quarter.
J.B. Middleton grabbed an interception for a 39-yard touchdown and added the extra point kick to cut the lead to 13-7.
The defensive touchdown would be BA’s only score of the half, however, and Central Holmes led 33-7 at haftime.
Caden Stevens opened the second half with a pair of first down runs.
Middleton caught a 20-yard touchdown to cut the lead to 36-14 with 8:32 to go in the third quarter.
Central Holmes added three points to the lead while Benton found the endzone once more, but the Trojans lead was too much to overcome.
Will Vaughan led the Riaders defensive effort for the night.
This week the Raiders host Indianola. The Colonels enter the contest with a 2-4 record after a 45-13 loss last week against Carroll Academy at home.
