Benton Academy’s Lady Raiders completed a sweep of Humphreys Academy on Friday night with a 50-17 victory.
The Lady Raiders started the game slower than they did in their first meeting with the Lady Rebs.
Humphreys kicked things off with a layup before getting a turnover and scoring another layup, making it a 4-0 game.
The Lady Raiders responded and tied things up.
After a few more possessions, it was a 7-7 game, and the teams went to their respective benches for a timeout.
After the short break, the Lady Raiders finally returned to form.
They went on a 16-0 lead to take a 23-7 into the second quarter.
At the half, the Lady Raiders were winning by a score of 33-8.
It was more of the same in the second half of play.
Benton’s defense continued to stifle any momentum Humphreys’ offense could muster.
By the time the final buzzer sounded, Benton had taken the game 50-17.
