Manchester Academy’s baseball team enjoyed yet another win on Monday night when they vanquished the Winona Christian Stars 6-0.
The win brought the Mavericks’ record up to 14-5 on the year.
In the first inning of play, Manchester knocked in two runs to take a 2-0 lead.
The defenses locked down tight for the next three innings, each pitcher make quick work of the order in the process.
Link Greenlee finally made something happen for Manchester in the fifth inning with an RBI single to extend the Mavericks’ lead to 3-0.
After a scoreless sixth inning, doubles by Ty Kilpatrick and Link Greenlee allowed Manchester to score three more runs to make it a 6-0 game.
With two outs in the bottom of the seventh, Will Fouche came into the game and struck out the only batter he faced, stamping an exclamation mark on a 6-0 Manchester win.
Senior Chris Guthrie earned his eighth win of the season on the mound, throwing two shutout innings, giving up only one hit with four walks and four strikeouts.
Dylan Dendy led the offensive effort for the Mavericks in the victory, going 2-for-4 at the plate with a double and two RBIs.
Ty Kilpatrick was also highly effective in the win, going 3-for-4 with a double, an RBI, and a run scored. Kilpatrick also tossed 4.2 innings of shutout ball, giving up no hits with two walks and four strikeouts.
Tyler Reynolds went 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored.
Link Greenlee drove in a run and scored a run in the win, while Blayke Dendy scored a run.
The Mavericks will play their regular season finale against Hartfield Academy on Tuesday night on the road.
The first pitch is set for 6 p.m.
