Caden Stevens has impressive debut with Raiders

By JASON PATTERSON,

Benton Academy fell to 2-2 after a 51-12 loss at Carroll Friday night.

It was a tough loss for the Raiders, but there were some bright spots for the team that started the season with back-to-back wins.

Perhaps the brightest spot was the debut of Caden Stevens.

Stevens scored one of Benton’s two touchdowns in his first game wearing the red and gold, had six carries for 65 yards and racked up eight tackles on defense.

"He just came in for his first ball game of the season and played exceptionally hard,” said Raiders head coach Kenny Burton. “We look forward to a good season with him."

JB Middleton had another outstanding performance for the Raiders as he caught three passes from quarterback Arion Warren for 34 yards and scored a touchdown. He also had five tackles on defense.

This week the Raiders  have a big challenge ahead as they hosts Winona Christian. The Stars enter the contest  with a 3-0 record.
