Youth baseball, softball registration underway

Registration for local youth baseball and softball is underway, and organizers are excited for the successful programs to return to the community.
Registration for Youth Baseball will end on March 20 with a QR code available in this edition of The Herald on page 12A. Sammy Burnham will serve as commissioner this season.

Panthers Sign football scholarships

Yazoo County Panther football standouts Devon Fountain and Marlin Jones recently signed scholarships to continue their respective football careers. Fountain signed with Lyon College and Jones inked with Mississippi Delta Community College. Both athletes are pictured above with family and friends.

Season ends in heartbreaker at Ripley for Lady Indians

The Yazoo City Lady Indians’ season came to an abrupt halt Monday night with a 52-45 loss to the Ripley Lady Tigers in the first round of the Class 4A State Championships.
The loss ends Yazoo City’s season at 14-17.
