A Chili Showdown You Won't Want to Miss
One of the highlights of this year's festival is the eagerly awaited chili cook-off. Pastor Tony Stratton is throwing down the gauntlet and challenging all chili enthusiasts to try and top his famous Cactus Chili. Can your chili recipe rise to the occasion? If it can, you'll earn not only bragging rights but also the first IHM Chili Cook-off trophy!
The Chili Cook-Off Rules
The chili cook-off is open to everyone, from seasoned chili aficionados to those trying their hand at chili creation for the first time. The more, the merrier! Here are the essential details:
• Chili Variety: Your chili can be of any style—whether it's hot or mild, with or without beans, made with hamburger, sausage, or even exotic ingredients. The sky's the limit, and your creativity is encouraged.
• Labeling: Ensure your chili is labeled with its spiciness level, ranging from mild to wild, so our tasters can choose accordingly. This helps those with sensitive palates find their perfect bowl.
• Ingredient List: While we don't require the full recipe, please have an ingredient list ready in case of allergies. This way, we can ensure everyone can safely enjoy your delectable creation.
How to Enter
Participating in the chili cook-off is simple:
Register: Contestants should register by October 7, 2023 to help assure we have a table set up for you in the cook-off area. However, late registrations will be considered. You can register by submitting your name and phone number through email at inspiredheightsministries@gmail.com or by texting 662.528.6418
Check-in: Check in your chili at the festival registration booth between 12:00 PM and 2:00 PM on the day of the event. Don't forget to bring your labeled chili and ingredient list.
Set Up: Find a cozy spot in our designated cook-off area and set up your chili station. Decorate your area to show off your chili's unique personality!
Tasting: Festival attendees will have the delightful task of tasting all the chili entries. Each attendee receives a voting card to cast their vote for their favorite chili.
Winner Announcement: The votes will be tallied, and the winner of the chili cook-off will be announced at 5:30 PM. Will it be Pastor Tony with his renowned Cactus Chili, or will a new chili champion emerge?
Hot Dogs, Chips, and Drinks for Everyone
Not in the mood for chili? No worries! We've got you covered. In addition to the chili cook-off, we'll have hotdogs, chips, and a variety of drinks available for those who prefer a classic festival meal.

Pie the Pastor: This is your chance to get even with Pastor Tony! Who will get the opportunity to take aim and pie the pastor in the face. It's all in good fun and for a good cause, of course!
